Bike Phone Mount System
A handlebar-mounted phone holder designed as a two-part system: a bar clamp and a locking cradle that interfaces directly with a custom phone case. The goal was to create a mount that feels secure at speed but allows quick, one-handed phone removal when you stop.
Design Details
The mount clamps onto standard round handlebars via a split-collar attachment with a clean, tool-free fit. The cradle uses a rail-and-clip locking interface that mates with a corresponding pattern on the phone case, so the phone slides in and locks positively into place. Corner retention tabs provide additional stability and prevent lateral movement during riding.
Key Considerations
- Designed for one-handed install and removal with tactile feedback on lock/unlock
- Vibration stability: the direct case-to-cradle interface eliminates the flex and rattle common in clamp-style mounts
- Compact form factor that doesn't add unnecessary bulk to the handlebar area
- Modeled and rendered for 3D printing or injection molding production
